Xiaomi is reportedly planning to launch the much awaited Redmi Note 4 in mid-January in India. The Redmi Note 4 could be the first smartphone launch from Xiaomi in India in 2017.

Xiaomi is reportedly planning to launch the much awaited Redmi Note 4 in mid-January in India. The Redmi Note 4 could be the first smartphone launch from Xiaomi in India in 2017.

The date of the launch has not yet been announced.  Redmi Note 4 was launched in China earlier this year in August.

For Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 3 has been the most successful smartphone in India with the company having sold over a million devices till date. It is said that Redmi Note 4 will be launched with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC.


The rumoured price of the smartphone is Rs 11,999. As far as the specifications are concerned, the Redmi Note 4 will have a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass.

The smartphone will be powered by 2GHz Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Processor bundled with an Adreno 506 GPU. It will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow (out-of-the-box).

The handset will be launched in four colours with 2GB, 3GB and 4GB RAM options. It will also be available in 16Gb and 32GB storage variant which are capable of supporting a microSD card up to 128GB.

In terms of camera, you get a  13MP rear camera with dual tone LED flash unit, PDAF and a 5MP front-facing camera. Just like its predecessor, the Redmi Note 4 will come with a large capacity 4100mAh battery.
