After stabbing the victim, the accused-lover inflicted wounds on himself also
A 17-year-old girl was stabbed at least 10 times for allegedly turning down a love proposal, on the outskirts of Tadepalligudem town in Andhra Pradesh's West Godavari district on Saturday. Luckily, her condition is stated to be stable.
The accused, Muriki Sanjeev Kumar, hails from Boorgampadu village in Khammam district. He was pursuing an MBA course at a private college in the town and also worked as sales promoter at a small fertilizer company, Tadepalligudem CI Murthy told Times of India.
The victim is Sanjeev's neighbour, whom he had befriended. After learning about the growing friendship between the two, the girl's parents allegedly warned her against meeting Sanjeev.
On Saturday, Sanjeev tracked the girl when she was returning home from college. He took her to an isolated location near aerodrome and both went into an argument. “A few minutes after he entered into a discussion with the girl, Sanjeev attacked her with a small knife, inflicting 10 cuts, some near the neck. The accused also attacked himself,” Murthy told ToI.
