Aamir Khan’s Dangal becomes the highest grossing film of 2016

Welcoming 2017 with a bang, actor Aamir Khan’s latest release, Dangal crossed the Rs 300cr mark.

Although Salman Khan and Aamir Khan worked on the same subject – boxing in their respective films, Sultan and Dangal were two completely different films. Both the backgrounds of the films were similar - Haryana and wrestling, but one was a love story, while the other focused on the relationship between father and daughter. Apart from this, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan are known for their good record at the box office.

In the Koffee with Karan episode, Aamir Khan said that he was hoping for Sultan to do well at the box office so that people would be inquisitive to watch Dangal and compare the two films. He also added that the success of Sultan would work in his favour.

As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Dangal is the ‘ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER’.

He also went on to add that Dangal needs to collect 36.42cr to equal the total of PK.

Congratulations Aamir Khan and team Dangal, 2017 looks like an awesome start.
