After Mulayam, Akhilesh may knock on EC door over ownership of cycle
Media reports suggest that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his supporters are likely to knock the doors of the EC on Tuesday with a similar request.
The unending Samajwadi Party feud has escalated to a new point on Monday with Mulayam Singh Yadav approached the Election Commission in New Delhi to stake claim over the 'cycle' symbol.
The move came after he cancelled the January 5 party convention called by the him. In a series of tweets, Shivpal said that on the orders of Mulayam Singh Yadav, the convention called on 5 January has been postponed for now.

According to Business Standard, it sources said the decision was after apprehension that few of the party legislators and leaders were likely to attend it. Shivpal Yadav, Mulayam’s younger brother and state party unit chief, tweeted to ask party workers to concentrate on their respective constituencies and work hard to win the elections.
Ram Gopal Yadav on Sunday has also held a party convention, where Akhilesh was appointed the party’s national chief in place of Akhilesh's father Mulayam, who was made the party mentor. Resolutions were passed to sack Rajya Sabha member Amar Singh from the party and Shivpal as state party unit chief. Akhilesh supporters have moved into the SP’s office at Vikramaditya Marg, Lucknow.
After he was elected as party president, Akhilesh Yadav tweeted on Sunday: "Sometimes to protect the ones you love you must make the right decision. What I did today was a tough decision but one that I had to take".
