Australian Open 2017: Leander Paes and Martina Hingis move to Mixed Doubles Quarters

Leander Paes and Martina Hingis moved to Australian Open 2017 Mixed Doubles Quarters on Monday beating Aussie pair of Casey Dellacqua and Matt Reid in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.

Leander Paes and Martina Hingis moved to Australian Open 2017 Mixed Doubles Quarters on Monday beating Aussie pair of Casey Dellacqua and Matt Reid in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.

Paes-Hingis pair dominated their rivals by saving a break point on Hingis' serve in the first set. They went on a rampage next with six aces. The wildcard entry duo took only 54 minutes to defeat their opponents in the match and didn’t face much challenge from the Aussie pair.

Casey Dellacqua and Matt Reid  managed to break the opponent’s serve in the eighth game of the second set and Casey Dellacqua and Matt Reid and easily finished the match soon.

Paes-Hingis overpowered the Australian pair of Destanee Aiava and Marc Polmans 6-4, 6-3 in their opening-round match in the championship. The duo won the match in just 51 minutes.

In Mixed Doubles matches, Indian player Bopanna and his Canadian partner Gabriela Dabrowski beat Michael Venus and Katarina Srebotnik 6-4 6-7, 10-7 in a gruelling match.

In another match, Sania Mirza and Croatia's Ivan Dodig defeated the defending US Open champions, Laura Siegemund and Mate Pavic, in their first round match,  7-5, 6-4.
