Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna won their respective matches in the Australian Open second round mixed doubles matches in Melboure on Saturday.

In a high adrenaline driven match, Bopanna and his Canadian partner Gabriela Dabrowski defeated Michael Venus and Katarina Srebotnik 6-4 6-7, 10-7 in a super tie-breaker.

Within a few hours later, 2nd seeded pair, Mirza and Croatia's Ivan Dodig beat US Open defending champions, Laura Siegemund and Mate Pavic in straight sets in their first round match, 7-5, 6-4.

Earlier, India’s mens’ doubles hopeful pair Bopanna and Leander Paes ended their dream run, leaving only Sania to lead the fray in women’s doubles with her partner Barbora Strycova of Czech Republic with a win over Australian-Chinese pair of Samantha Stosur and Shuai Zhang.
