Baba Ramdev's floor cleaner from cow urine, Twitter goes for a laugh!

Announcing the launch of a new floor cleaner, the Patanjali group has published an ad on the occasion of Makar Sankranti

Baba Ramdev

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev's Patanjali products have always been hot headlines, but not for the right reasons. Like his strange announcements about launching a swadeshi jeans Paridhaan, a new one which has not only left netizens perplexed but irritated some are out!

Announcing the launch of a new floor cleaner, the group has published an ad on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. Given their track record on hygiene and cleaning product, this was not a news at all. They even had campaigned for their desi product saying “Stop punishing your hands with chemical based phenyl”.

But wait! What it contains is quite surprising. Along with eucalyptus oil, pine oil, lemon grass and antibacterial herbs, it is manufactured from "holy Cow urine"! Ring a bell?

The company hs been promoting the use of cow urine for some time, and many of their products claim to contain gaumutra (cow urine).

Other than that, the ad clearly campaigns against cow slaughter, a very controversial subject now. The ad very clearly states “Join the movement to save the cow, our holy mother”, and further claims that by embracing this product it will be a “small initiative to free our motherland from stigma of cow slaughtering”.

Ambiguous on how this would stop bovine creatures getting slaughtered, the ad was widely shared and irked many on Twitter. Many openly mocked it saying will house start smelling like "cow pee".

Check out some responses from Twitter.
