Priyanka laughed off the comments saying Katiyar's remark really showed the mindset of BJP towards India's women.
Vinay Katiyar, senior BJP leader, who is known for his explosive remarks once again sparked controversy when he targeted Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi on Wednesday.
He was asked about Gandhi, who is the star campaigner of Congress in poll-bound states and the leader from Uttar Pradesh replied: "Priyanka Gandhi se jyada sundar mahila hain... unse jayda sundar mahila BJP mein hain. Jitna Priyanka Gandhi ko khubsoorat bataya jata hai wo utni khubsoorat nahi hain.
"Humare yahan Smriti Irani hain jo jahan jati hai waha bheed lag jati hai. Wo unse kahi jayda accha bhashan deti hain (We have Smriti Irani, who more beautiful than Priyanka. There is a crowd wherever she goes. Irani is also a far better speaker than Priyanka)," Katiyar added.

The BJP leader's remarks came when a huge uproar is going on against JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav's comment that the honour of a vote is more important than the honour of a woman.
According to a video shared by ANI, Janata Dal (U) politician Yadav said, “It is very important to educate people in a big way about how the ballot paper works. The honour of being able to cast a vote is a much bigger honour than your daughter’s honour.”
However, after the uproar his comments have created, Yadav now says that people are considering it wrong, however, he means what he said. He said that his comments didn’t disrespect women in any way. Just like a daughter is loved and nourished, votes should also be nourished, he said.
