Delhi fog: Flight, train services delayed

Amid the chilling winds and dense fog, train and flight services in the national capital are severely hit. With the thick fog engulfing the region, public is braving the cold with bonfires, while government has arranged for night shelters for poor.

As many as 35 trains are arriving late, 8 have been rescheduled and 1 cancelled due to foggy weather conditions.




Two international and 9 domestic flights to and from Delhi were delayed due to fog or other operational reasons.



Mercury has dipped below 8 degrees Celsius in the national capital, causing people in several parts of Delhi and its adjoining areas to light bonfires to brave the chill.



The government has arranged for night shelters for the poor to brave the chilling cold.



After heavy snowfall in parts of Himachal, cold wave conditions are intensifying in Shimla as the temperature has dropped below -2 degrees Celsius. Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar continues to suffer with continuous snowfall. People are lighting bonfires to keep themselves warm.
