Demonetisation and GST are two biggest economic reforms after independence: Chandrababu Naidu
Naidu praised the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking the bold step of fighting terrorism, anti-social elements and black money through demonetisation and cashless transactions.
Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu said demonetization and GST (goods and services tax) are the two biggest economic reforms in India after independence. He was addressing an inaugural session of the 104th Indian Science Congress in Tirupati.
He said the GST and demoentisation would put an end to parallel economy and boost the economic progress of the country.
Naidu, who is the head of the sub-committee of chief ministers on digital economy has described how AP has made a mark in cashless transactions since the withdrawal of high value notes.
"We have achieved 25 per cent digitisation of economy through cashless transactions in the state since November 8. By March-end we will achieve 50 per cent cashless transactions," Naidu said.
