Extremist forces infiltrated pro-Jallikattu protests, says BJP leader Pon Radhakrishnan
While talking to the media, Radhakrishnan remarked: Why did you allow a python or cobra to sneak into a students protest?
Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan today alleged that extremist forces had infiltrated the week-long pro-Jallikattu protests and they used students and youngsters.
“Some persons had used the students and youngsters. Police should probe who sneaked into this movement,” he stated.
The BJP leader has raised some questions, “How did it reach a situation of lathi charge. Who instigated it, what is the background? Whether to blame the government or police or students or the extremist forces which had infiltrated”.
While talking to the media, Radhakrishnan remarked: “Why did you allow a python or cobra to sneak into a students’ protest?”
According to the minister, the extremist persons had entered the fray right on day one. And the minister demanded to know how police could allow unwanted elements to sneak in amidst the students.
Over the last week, Tamil Nadu had witnessed massive campaigns and protests in favour of Jallikattu with the participation of lakhs of supporters. On Tuesday, the Marina Beach sit-in, the peaceful protest had turned into violent. Nearly 50 police vehicles were set on fire, a police station was burnt, and major roads and highways were blocked. After a law had been cleared by the Tamil Nadu legislature, the leaders called off the protests.
