Born in Copenhagen to famous badminton player Prakash Padukone and Ujjala Padukone, Deepika turns 31 today. Ace badminton player but sacrificed the career for studies, Deepika then joined modeling while in college. She was famously a Liril and Limca girl and is now popular in the ads for Nescafe, Fiama Di Wills, Pepsi, and Sony Cybershot.
Her Bollywood debut was with King Khan in Om Shanti Om in 2007, which won the IIFA Awards' Best Debutant Award, Filmfare Best Female Debut Award as well as her first Filmfare Best Actress nomination.
