Days after Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists were killed in Anantnag district, one Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorist was killed in an encounter with police and security forces in Bandipora district.

In the wee hours of Thursday, the state police and security forces in a joint operation managed to neutralize the LeT commander Abu Musa.




On specific intelligence input about the presence of militants in Hajin area of Bandipora, security forces launched a cordon and search operation, a police official said. Furthermore, during the search operation, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, which was retaliated in which a militant was killed.

A police constable was also injured in the gunfight, the official said, adding he has been referred to a hospital.He said some miscreants pelted stones on the security forces near the encounter site.
