Jallikattu: AR Rahman to observe fast on Friday, theatres closed in Tamil Nadu

Popular music director AR Rahman will observe fast on Friday in support of Jallikattu protests across Tamil Nadu.
"I'm fasting tomorrow to support the spirit of Tamilnadu!" he tweeted. The influential South Indian Artistes Association, Nadigar Sangam has also decided to observe fast, it is learnt. The entire Tamil film industry has come in support of the traditional bull tame festival and theatres in Tamil Nadu were closed for the morning and matinee shows on Thursday.
Tollywood’s two powerful bodies, Film Employees Federation of South India and the Film Workers' Union and Producers' Council have suspended shoots, reported News Minute.
The Nadigar Sangam is also expected to hold a silent hunger strike in this regard on Friday. Major Tamil actors like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Vijay, Ajith, Suriya have also come out against the Jallikatttu ban.
MP’s from Tamil Nadu met the Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday seeking the Centre’s to bring an ordinance on Jallikattu to resolve the current political crisis in the state.
Meanwhile thousands of protesters now camping at the Marina beach in Chennai said, they will not leave the place unless the Centre issues a notification to remove the ban on Jallikattu.
