Jishnu suicide: No report on copying, says exam controller

The exam controller confirmed that any malpractice found during exams will be reported on the same day itself.

Following the claim of Nehru College authorities that Jishnu was caught copying during exams, exam controller Dr. Shabu on Tuesday clarified that no such report has been received. Jishnu, a Kozhikode native, was a student of Nehru Engineering College in Pampady, Thrissur, Kerala.

The exam controller confirmed that any malpractice found during exams will be reported on the same day itself.

Kerala Minister of Education C Ravindranath has announced an investigation on the situations that led to Jishnu’s suicide. He instructed the Kerala Technical University (KTU) to investigate the incident and submit report. The director of technological university has visited the spot.

Jishnu, a first year engineering student, had committed suicide after allegation from the college that he had caught copying during exams. He was said to be tortured and wounds were seen on his face and legs.

Meanwhile, students have launched protest in front of the college.
