Kerala: Bomb hurled near CPM state secy Kodiyeri’s meeting venue
While the CPM alleges the RSS hand, the RSS dismissed the charge, saying it was a ploy to divert focus from BJP worker Santhosh�s killing.
A bomb was hurled on Thursday night near a public meeting venue of CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan in Kannur district of Kerala.
Police said motorbike assailants hurled bombs when Balakrishnan was on dais, Hindustan Times reported.
The incident left a Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) activist injured.
The attack has led to allegations and counter allegations. While the CPM alleges the RSS hand, the RSS dismissed the charge, saying it was a ploy to divert focus from BJP worker Santhosh’s killing.
Santhosh (52), was hacked to death by alleged CPM workers in chief minister Pinarayi Vjiayan’s constituency on Wednesday.
The incident occurred around 7.30 pm about 200 metres from the venue, where Balakrishnan was speaking at Nangarathupeedika in the New Mahe area of Kannur, police said.
Balakrishnan left the venue shortly after the incident completing his speech.
