Kerala govt files correction petition in Soumya case

The Kerala Government on Saturday filed a correction petition in the Supreme Court in connection with the Soumya murder case.
The petition has been filed against the Supreme Court verdict of quashing the death sentence awarded to her rapist Govindachami, Mathrubhumi News has reported.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had rejected the review petition filed by the state government and Soumya’s mother on November 11 against the quashing of death sentence to Govindachami. Following this, the government decided to go forward with the correction petition.
