Kerala: Jishnu’s suspected suicide note found
In a crucial development in the probe into Jishnu suicide case, the Crime Branch investigation team on Wednesday found a note, believed to be his suicide note, from the premises of Pampady Engineering College hostel in Thrissur, Kerala.
In the note, it is written, ‘I Quit’ and a cross mark is put over it. There is also the sentence “I lost my life, my dreams too”, Kaumudi Online has reported.
However, Jishnu’s relatives said the handwriting on the suicide note didn’t belong to him. They suspected the suicide note was a story cooked up by the management to save its face.
The police team took statements from hostel warden and students. They also conducted an inspection at the examination hall.
Parents of Jishnu petitioned Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan seeking fair probe into the case.
“We found a suicide note from the drain near the toilet where Jishnu committed suicide. We need to confirm whether it is written by Jishnu. To prove genuineness, the letter would be sent to Forensic Science Lab and to a handwriting expert,” Thrissur Rural Police said, as per a report in Deccan Chronicle.
With this the cops will have to widen the investigation and find whether the management harassed Jishnu as alleged by his classmates and relatives. At present, the cops have registered an FIR under Section 174 CrPC.
The college management on Wednesday filed a fresh petition against students and SFI and KSU activists for damaging it property.
The cops suo motu registered a case on Monday after the protest march turned violent.
