The CPM will conduct a mock public trial of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday in all district centres of Kerala over the issue of demonetisation.

The protests in the state are being organised as part of the national-level protests over the difficulties faced by people due to demonetisation. The CPM demand is that the restrictions on cash withdrawal should be rolled back and digital transactions should not be imposed on the public.
Former Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan and CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan will inaugurate the protest programmes in Pathanamthitta and Thrissur, respectively. Minister Thomas Isaac and leaders like EP Jayarajan, PK Sreemathy and Vijayaraghavan will participate in the protest programmes at various centres.
