LDF bags 7 out of 13 seats in Kerala civic bypolls
The BJP secured three and the UDF two
The ruling Left Democratic Front has won a majority of seats in the byelection to local bodies in Kerala. Out of a total of 13 wards in which results were announced, the LDF bagged 7.
The BJP secured three and the UDF two.
The Kerala Congress (M), which went to the polls after severing ties with the UDF, won at Mutholy in Kottayam.
In Kozhikode district, the two seats for which the elections were held were shared between the CPM and the BJP. The LDF bagged two seats in Alappuzha and one each in Kasaragod, Palakkad, Kannur and Thiruvananthapuram.
The BJP won one seat each in Kollam and Pathanamthitta, for which the by-elections were held. UDF took two seats in Palakkad.
