A crude distillation unit of Hindustan Petroleum's refinery in Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh was shut down early Saturday after a fire outbreak. There were no casualties.

The fire had spread from the Crude Distillation Unit-1 of the refinery in the night.

The cause of fire was not immediately known, The Hindu reported.








Immediate steps were taken to prevent the spread of fire to other units.

A departmental enquiry has been ordered. The loss due to the incident is being estimated.
