Breaking the silence over Padmawati ruckus, actors Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor have spoken up aginst the assault on Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Padmawati actor Deepika Padukone has expressed her shock over the attack on director Sanjay Leela Bhansali during the shooting of his directorial venture Padmavati in Jaipur's Jaigarh Fort. Bhansali was slapped and his hair was pulled by the activists of Rajput Karni Sena alleging that the film distorts history.


Deepika, who is playing the lead role of Rani Padmavati in the film, took to twitter to express her anger. “In a state of shock!deeply saddened and disheartened by yesterday’s events!#Padmavati,” Deepika wrote.
In between the actor assured that the film is not distorting the historical fact.





Deepika's co-actor Shahid Kapoor, who is playing the role of Padmavati's husband Raja Rawal Ratan Singh, expressed his anger. Questioning the actions of the fringe group, Shahid said that the director was someone who the country should be proud of because of the "dignity he brings to the film".









Admitting that the incident was very unfortunate, Ranveer Singh assured the people of Rajasthan and the Rajput community, that his director Bhansali "won't ever do anything to hurt anyone's feelings". Ranveer Singh is playing the role of the Alauddin Khilji in the film.
