SC to appoint administrators for BCCI on January 24
The Amicus Curiae has given the SC nine names for the post of administrators in a sealed envelope on Friday.
The Supreme Court will appoint administrators for the Board of Control for Cricket in India on January 24 from a list given by the Amicus Curiae in the case. ANI reported that the Amicus Curiae has given the SC nine names of the administrators in a sealed envelope on Friday.
The SC also questioned the Amicus Curiae on the relevance of some people in the list who are over the age of 70. Earlier, the Lodha Committee has recommended to the BCCI not to include any administrators over the age of 70.
Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi has requested SC to rethink the Lodha verdict, and pleaded that though the BCCI is a private body the SC’s decision in this regard will have a bearing on the government as well. The AG has indicated that BCCI has been backed by Centre in the case.
