Paris, new solo track of The Chainsmokers, is out!
Without any female vocal featuring, this makes the duo's first solo track since 2015
Grammy-nominated electro DJ duo the Chainsmokers released their new track on Friday, adding to their tradition of coming up with one-off singles with easy listening pop loops. Named "Paris", the new track sway into their usual storytelling tendency again with Drew Taggart as the male leading vocal revolving around a complicated love affair. Without any female vocal featuring, this makes the duo's first solo track since 2015.
“We were staying in Paris / to get away from your parents,” the song opens, “And I thought, ‘Wow, if I could take this in a shot right now / I don’t think that we could work this out,'” —a pessimistic reflection on a yet another tricky relationship.

It seems to be the favourite point of The Chainsmokers: slow- soothing tunes- this one is a down tempo- a nostalgic, emotional story, and an ambiguous tone.
“If we go down, then we go down together,” the chorus says, rather wistfully. C’est la vie!
