UM Motorcycles opens first dealership in East India at Guwahati
UM Motorcycles, the Indian arm of the American motorcycle maker UM International in collaboration with Lohia Auto on Thursday inaugurated its dealership at Guwahati.

Rajeev Mishra, CEO of UM Lohia Two Wheelers Pvt. Ltd inaugurated the building located at T.N. Tower, Near LCB College, Maligaon marking the launch of company’s first dealership in North East India.
It houses facilities for interacting with customers, space for providing after sales service and support in a spacious area of 750 sq. ft, said the company in a press release.
The recently announced 24x7 Roadside Assistance Programme will also be available for all customers in Guwahati with immediate effect.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajeev Mishra said, “The North-Eastern market contributes to as much as 35% of the total two-wheeler segment in India, hence it was imperative that we expand our footprint in this region. Guwahati is the first dealership, we have inaugurated in North East India and we plan to have a presence in each of the seven sister states as well.”
Kishor Jain, Director, LUIT UM said, “Guwahati has a rich motorcycling culture and after riding the Renegade Commando and the Renegade Sports S, I am sure that all bikers who prefer cruisers will opt for our products without a single thought.
The highlight of showroom is the Renegade Commando which is a low-slung cruiser powered by a high-powered 280 cc engine with 25 BHP at 8,500 rpm and 21.8 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. It is available at Rs 1.74 lakhs (ex-showroom, Guwahati).
This lightweight machine has a 200 mm ground clearance and an inbuilt USB charging point. The front disc brakes improve the braking efficiency drastically while radiation increases the engine efficiency. The bike comes with wide handlebars and hydraulic telescopic front suspension and spring rear suspension, which is ideal for a cruiser-segment motorcycle, added the company.
