UP Polls 2017: BSP to fight alone, announces Mayawati
"BJP should be ready to face the consequences of their decision in UP polls that has rendered 90% of people 'kangaal'", said Mayawati.
While addressing a press conference in Lucknow, Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati has announced that the party would fight it alone in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.
"BSP will go it alone in the assembly elections," Mayawati said, adding, "Do not take the Congress seriously, it is surviving on oxygen support." She also claimed that the BJP and SP have a tacit understanding.
Attacking the BJP over the demonetization issue, she said, "BJP should be ready to face the consequences of their decision in UP polls that has rendered 90% of people 'kangaal'".
"It's been over 50 days post demonetization and yet PM has not said how much black money has been recovered," she added. "After its 'achhe din' promise, BJP should be prepared for 'burey din'", she said.
Mayawati also addressed the issue of hate crimes against the Dalits and said, "Merely condoning or condemning incidents of crime against Dalits won't help. They demand equality guaranteed under our Constitution."
With Sunday, January 15, also being her birthday the BSP chief appealed to party workers to celebrate "with simplicity" by doing acts of welfare for the needy and underprivileged.
