Bengaluru man dies after wife kicks in his balls
He was HIV positive and allegedly tried to force himself on her
A 45-year-old man was killed after his 35-year-old woman allegedly kicked in his testicles when he tried to forced himself on her, in West Bengaluru's Byatarayanapura, in the wee hours of Sunday.
According to The Times of India, the wife, a housewife, defended herself saying that her husband was HIV-positive and was attempting to force himself on her in a drunken state when she reacted in self-defense. She has been arrested under IPC section 302 (murder).
The incident took place around 2.30 am on Sunday. Quoting the wife, the police said she had been keeping distance from her husband, fearing that she would contract the illness, but he attempted to force himself on her. She kicked him on his testicles, following which he collapsed and died instantly.
The couple had been married for past 15 years and have a 13-year-old daughter from the marriage.
MN Anucheth, deputy commissioner of police, said post-mortem would be the key for ascertaining the cause of the death. While the wife believes that the kick resulted in the death, investigators have also found a head injury.
"We can't conclusively say at this moment which injury caused the death or if the medical condition of the deceased itself had something to do with the death. We have to await the post-mortem report for these answers," he said.
Asked whether the husband's attempt to force himself amounted for attempt to rape, he said it is a decision to be taken by the courts. "As of now we have booked a case of murder," he said.
