They also said that fresh dates for the meeting of the delegation will be declared later, based on the consultation with PMO and with PM.
The proposed meeting of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao along with an all-party delegation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to demanding steps for categorisation of SCs in the state has been postponed to a later date.
“We received a message from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) saying that the appointment with the PM, scheduled for Monday, was cancelled because of unavoidable reasons. The PMO sent this communique to us late on Saturday night,” CMO officials stated in a release.
They also said that fresh dates for the meeting of the delegation will be declared later, based on the consultation with PMO and with PM. The delegation was supposed to leave for the capital on Sunday to meet PM Modi the next day, i.e, on February 6.
Earlier on Sunday, the Congress and TDp expressed their willingness to join the all-party delegation being led by the CM. Reports suggest that both the parties are racing to gain from the meeting and with the CM's decision.
If TDP TS unit president L Ramana said on Saturday that it was under his party's rule that had passed the legislation categorising SCs in the old united Stae, TPCC supremo N Uttam Kumar said that CM had decided to take an all-party team to Delhi as per the demands put forwarded by the Congress.
Deputy chief minister K Srihari, TPCC president Uttam, TTD P president Ramana, BJP state president K Laxman, CPM secretary Ch Seetaramulu, CPI state secretary Chdada Venkata Reddy and AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi will be part of the all-party team.
Chief secretary SP Singh, special advisor Rajiv Sharma, CMO principal secretary Narsinga Rao, GAD principal secretary Adhar Sinha and Resident Commissioner Arvind Kumar will also accompany the delegation.
