In a shootout in Nehru Place with a gang of alleged criminals, 2 Delhi Police personnel were injured on Monday. However, one of the wanted gangster, carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 was arrested.

According to the reports, the spokesperson said that a police team tried to stop the criminals, whose exact number was not known, near Eros Hotel in south Delhi’s Nehru Place when one of them opened fire, injuring two cops.


The arrested gangster has been identified as Akbar, whose aides fled the scene.

Early morning shots rang out before the start of metro operations, therefore, there were no commuters. The police acted on a tip and laid a trap for Akbar.

Akbar and his aide reportedly fired when they saw the police, who were in bulletproof jackets. 13 rounds of bullets were fired.
