Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka lands in caste soup with kshatriya warrior remark

If you are a CEO of country's second largest software exporter, facing a worsening dispute with its founders over how the company was being run, you would come up with some strong arguments about your capability to handle the situation. But this is not the case with Vishal Sikka, CEO of India's second-largest software exporter Infosys.

Sikka, absurdly used his caste credentials to justify his ability to tackle professional upheaval in his organisation.

Hours after a press meet, which was preceded by a meeting with shareholders, Sikka said, “I am a kshatriya warrior. I am here to stay and fight”. He added that developments in the technology giant over the past week didn’t weigh him down and that investors were concerned about the company’s performance and not the governance controversy.

It is ironical that Sikka who has wide-ranging experience- prior to joining Infosys, as a member of the executive board of SAP AG and the Global Managing Board, cited his Kshatriya background to make a point.

Unsurprisingly, the social media reacted unfavourably to the comment.
