Kulgam encounter: 3 soldiers, 4 terrorists killed
Army has also neutralised 3 terrorists in the Kulgam encounter.
3 soldiers have been killed and another was injured in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district on Sunday.
Army has also neutralised 4 terrorists in the encounter that started early in the morning on Sunday. Media reports said the exchange of firing was underway in the district's Yaripora-Frisal area.
Army officials have, however, refused to comment on the number of casualties. “Different unconfirmed figures on casualties of security forces and terrorists are doing rounds. Operation in Kulgam (J&K) is still on,” said an army official told ANI.
On February 4, the security forces shot dead two top Kashmiri militants while they were trying to enter politically sensitive Sopore town in Jammu and Kashmir’s north-western Baramulla district.
"Three other terrorists, believed to be injured during the gunfight, managed to escape from the spot and are hiding nearby. An operation is underway to find and nab them," sources told news agency Press Trust of India.
