Ministry of Home Affairs website hacked
Authorities have temporarily blocked the website and Delhi Police has started an investigation into the matter.
At a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi dreams of "Digital India", Ministry of Home Affairs’ website has been hacked by an unknown source.
According to media reports, the authorities have temporarily blocked it.
“The Ministry of Home Affairs website was hacked today, prompting authorities to temporarily block it,” an official from the Ministry confirmed, according to Financial Express.
The official, according to the report, said that the response teams are looking into the matter and are trying to find the elements responsible for the mischief.
In January, suspected Pakistan-affiliated operatives had also hacked National Security Guard (NSG) official website and uploaded it with a profanity-laden message against the Prime Minister and anti-India content.
The Home Ministry recently, in a written report, told the the Lok Sabha that more than 700 websites of various central and state government departments were hacked in the past four years and a total of 8,348 persons were arrested for their involvement in cyber crimes.
