Nokia 6 not being sold in flash sales, but having a quick sale: HMD Global group

The comeback smartphone for Nokia, Nokia 6 is having a giant sale in China. The HMD Global group, which owns the rights to the Nokia brand has made it clear that the new Nokia 6 wasn't being sold via JD.com following flash sales model.

The groups wrote to Nokia Power User saying that the phone is having a quick sale thereby giving an impression that it may be available under flash sale model. "Actually we have been updating the inventory on JD.com more than 3 times but those were usually gone within minutes or hours, so that's why you have the impression that we were doing flash sales,"  said the group.

They also gave an assurance of opening more Nokia 6 units in China. "We will keep supply to JD for sure and now the Chinese New Year holiday is mostly over and everybody's back for work, you can expect more supplies in the coming days and weeks," HMD Global group said.

The phone has so far been available in China twice and had a tremendous response in the largest Asian market. In the opening flash sale, the product has gone out of stock in a minute. The second flash sale of Nokia 6 saw almost 1.4 million registrations. The company hasn't revealed anything about their future plans, but rumours say that they are going to launch Nokia outside China. To be remembered, HMD Global launched the Nokia smartphone last month at CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 17,000) in China. The group has already booked a slot in the upcoming MWC 2017, where they are planning to announce more Nokia-Android phones. According to official decree, the Nokia event will take place in Barcelona on February 26, and it will kick off at 4:30pm local time (9pm IST).
