Raees Box Office Collection: Shah Rukh

Shah Rukh Khan's new flick Raees hit the big screens two weeks ago and has been doing very well at Box Office ever since. On Wednesday, the 15th day of Raees in theatres, the film earned close to Rs 3 crore. Counting the number days passed since it's release this can be definitely called an achievement for the film. This gangster drama has garnered more than Rs 300 crore worldwide.

The film opened to a tight race with Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil but performed well nevertheless. The ticket counters saw huge lines for both the films, but still King Khan drama maintained its grip at Box Office. A great praise goes to Shah Rukh himself who portrayed a bootlegger in the Rahul Dholakia directorial. The film shows his fight with the administration and especially with ACP Majmudar (Nawazuddin Siddiqui).

Raees had all the spicy elements for a standard hit film- splendid performances, powerful dialogues and memorable songs.

Though the film has a successful run at the Box Office in India, it won't be releasing in Pakistan. Despite the ban for Indian films have been lifted, the Shah Rukh Khan starred Raees is banned in the neighbouring country. The Censor Board of Pakistan said the film condescended Islam and put Muslims in the bad light.

Mahira Khan, who plays the lead female role in the film would have felt bad with the ban on her own country. Spectators are eager to see what happens with the dream run of Raees, if Akshay Kumar's comedy Jolly LLB 2 releases in this month.
