Sasikala, Palanisamy booked for kidnapping AIADMK MLAs
The case was filed after an MLA from the Panneerselvam camp complained of alleged detention of other party lawmakers in a resort in Koovathur, Tamil Nadu.
A day after AIADMK General Secretary VK Sasikala appointed senior party leader Edappadi K Palanisamy as the legislative leader, Tamil Nadu police has filed a kidnapping case against both the leaders, alleging that the MLAs were put up in Golden Bay Resort against their will.
The case was filed after an MLA from the Panneerselvam camp complained of alleged detention of other party lawmakers in a resort in Koovathur, Tamil Nadu. Reports said the police had earlier conducted an enquiry at the resort.

Saravanan had reportedly reached O Panneerselvam's residence late night on Monday after escaping from the Koovathur resort.
Alleging that the party MLAs were being detained in the resort, Saravanan claimed that he had escaped by scaling a wall after disguising himself.
"If a floor test is held today, Panneerselvam will win it. Both those who have come to his side and those who have not will vote for him," he was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Sasikala has reached Bengaluru after the Supreme Court had told the AIADMK chief to surrender immediately rejecting her lawyer’s appealed for more time. She left Chennai for Bengaluru today after paying floral tributes at deceased party leader J. Jayalalithaa’s memorial at Chennai’s Marina Beach.
Leaving her dream to become the Chief Minister just a dream, the apex court had on Tuesday ordered Sasikala be sent back to jail immediately to serve out the remaining 3 years, 10 months and 27 days of a four-year sentence for corruption.
