Shiv Sena mocks Budget 2017: Arun Jaitley wasted time in shayari
The government has realised that the demonetisation was a failure, but it has no courage to admit their mistake, said Shiv Sena in Saamana.
Shiv Sena has launched an attack on Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley a day after he presented the Budget for the financial year 2017-18.
In its mouthpiece Saamana, Shiv Sena mocked Budget 2017 presented by Arun Jaitley, saying the Finance Minister wasted his time in reading shayaris.
The Saamna editorial observed that the BJP has no courage to admit that the note ban was a complete failure. The Budget 2017 failed to provide any relief to farmers who were worst affected by the demonetisation, Shiv Sena added.
“The government has realised that the demonetisation was a failure, but it has no courage to admit their mistake,” Shiv Sena stated in Saamana.
“Arun Jaitley wasted country’s two hours while reading poetry in his Budget speech. Promises like employment for youths and houses for poor are being made since the first Budget after Independence. But nothing has been done on ground,” said the editorial of Saamna.
“The government vowed to create 2 crore new jobs for youths. On the other hand, the demonetisation drive has taken away jobs of 44 lakh people,” remarked Shiv Sena. “The government says agricultural sector has seen double growth, thanks for good rainfall. But the harsh reality is it didn’t benefit the farmers because of the demonetisation," Shiv Sena added.
In a pointed reaction to the Union Budget 2017, Shiv Sena chief asked, “Has the government implemented all the announcements of the last year’s budget? If they have not been fulfilled, then what was the need to present a new budget this year?”
