The Ghazi Attack, India's first film on war-at-sea, which hit the screens on February 17, shown an upward trend on Saturday and is expected to do well in the coming days too.

The film is bilingual and also released in Telugu. The Hindi version of the film collected Rs 2-2.25 crore on Saturday at the domestic box-office, according to a report on boxofficeindia.com.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#TheGhaziAttack showed ample growth over the weekend… Fri 1.65 cr, Sat 2.25 cr, Sun 2.80 cr. Total: ₹ 6.70 cr… Note: Hindi version.”


The film which stars Rana Daggubati, Taapsee Pannu, Kay Kay Menon, Rahul Singh and Satyadev Kancharana has been distributed by Dharma Productions.

“#TheGhaziAttack holding strong! Box office growth and tremendous appreciation! The team is grateful! Thank you…a sleeper hit on its way!,” wrote Karan Johar on Twitter.

The Ghazi Attack released at a time when the theatres are also loaded with Oscar nominated films.

The film directed by Sankalp Reddy faces the challenge from Shoojit Sircar’s Running Shaadi and Naseeruddin Shah’s Irada, and even Subhash Kapoor’s Jolly LLB 2, which is running in its second week and is making a run towards Rs 100 crores.
