Did Tabu turn down the role of Kamala Das to go for Golmaal 4?
Tabu's harsh decision to select money over art caused a big casualty to the Malayalam biopic Aami on author Kamala Das
Big budget movies always mean good luck for actor Tabu who has always complained about her being payment. And her lure for money has made big news as she selected Golmaal 4 over writer Kamala Das biopic Aami.
Apparently, the south Indian beauty has been offered a huge amount of money (“as much as Deepika Padukone in Chennai Express”) to star in the fourth instalment of the Golmaal franchise with her old pal Ajay Devgn. Both of them shared the screen in her first commercial film Vijaypath.
Tabu's harsh decision to select money over art caused a big casualty to the Malayalam biopic Aami on author Kamala Das. There were reports that Tabu might replace Vidya Balan to do the author's role in the biopic which was turned away by the decision.
Bollywood Hungama quoted a source close to the makers of biopic as saying, “We don’t know what happened. But Tabu was in negotiations to play Kamal Das. She is a South Indian, well-read and very literary-minded. She showed a keen interest in the project. The next thing we hear are announcements of Golmaal. We wish her all the best.”
