According to reports in The Wall Street Journal, the upcoming iPhone, considered as Apple's signature smartphone will have an OLED display. The model will reportedly cost around $1,000. iPhone 7, the latest version of the franchise, starts around $649.

The report also says that Apple will replace the Lightning connector with the increasingly popular USB-C standard, and will remove the physical home button.


According to Wall Street Journal, Apple declined to comment on the report.

2017 marks the 10th anniversary of the smartphone and expectations are high for the next iPhone. Another appreciable feature that users could spot will be a move to wireless charging, after the tech giant has joined the Wireless Power Consortium.
