Swine flu: Telangana reports 27 fresh cases
As many as 6,041 samples have been tested till Tuesday since August 1 last year, and 810 were found positive.
Telangana government on Wednesday said 27 fresh cases of swine flu have been reported in the state, where 21 people have died due to the H1N1 virus and other complications since August 1, 2017.
A bulletin on swine flu said 186 samples were tested on Tuesday for swine flu and 27 were found positive for the virus. No death was reported on Tuesday, the bulletin said.
It added that as many as 6,041 samples have been tested till Tuesday since August 1 last year, and 810 were found positive.
Sufficient stock of medicines and testing kits were available in the state, the release added.
Meanwhile, 2 more swine flu positive cases have been reported in the Visakhapatnam including that of a pregnant woman whose condition is said to be serious, according to a report in Times of India.
In the other case, the report said, a government doctor with a travel history to Hyderabad tested H1N1 positive, but is currently recovering.
The pregnant woman, who is reported to be in serious condition, was first made to abort the foetus and later shifted from King George Hospital (KGH) in a critical state to Government Hospital for Chest and Infectious Diseases, said professor of medicine and nodal officer for swine flu at KGH Dr Indira Devi.
