"Hadiya

Hadiya who is been kept under house arrest following the Kerala High Court verdict is reported to be tortured physically by her parents. Hadiya's lawyer co-advocate KC Nazir did raise such an allegation through his Facebook post on Monday. He said that this cruelty was revealed to him by one of the humane policemen who were there on duty at Hadiya's house.

"Hadiya's life is in danger. She is been severely tortured physically by her parents. They will either kill this girl or will make her mental status agitated. This matter is conveyed to me by one of the policemen who were on duty at her house" says Adv. Nazir

Hadiya's husband Shafin Jahan has now approached the Apex Court seeking the recall of the order directing an investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the matter. Mr. Jahan also brings on record the complaints received by the State Human Rights Commission of Kerala regarding Hadiya's detention. With regard to the NIA investigation, Mr. Jahan submits that the Agency has begun investigating the incident, despite the refusal of Justice R.V. Raveendran to head the probe. This, it says, is in violation of the Court's order. The Application, therefore, demands that the NIA be directed to not proceed with the investigation. It also seeks a direction to the Director General of Police, (Law and Order), Trivandrum, Kerala to produce Hadiya before the Apex Court.

In the month of August, Hadiya revealed to the six girls who went with gifts that her parents are continuously torturing her. Hadiya's father Ashokan, filed a case at the court soon as she left home after the 'marriage'. Shafin, Hadiya's groom is an active member of SDPI. Later High Court of Kerala let Hadiya back with her parents in a mode of house arrest restricting her contacts with the society. Hadiya is been kept literally under house arrest with high security by the Kerala Police. While the local RSS leadership does their part perfect to ensure Hadiya being hidden from the outer world, Kerala Hindu Aikya Vedi President Sasikala visited Akhila's parents. Still, no medias or social workers are allowed to meet Hadiya, while a move of 'Love Jihad' is been widely accused here by the Hindutva groups.
