Eye witnesses reported the Pune Police did not take action against the Sangh Parivar goons who attacked Dalits who were celebrating Bhima Koregaon battle victory anniversary. "The police was standing watching the violence against Dalits in Bhima Koregaon, Dalit student leader Dontha Prashanth told Narada News.

"The gathering on 31 December was huge. People from around the country attended the event. Police was not there on 31." Dontha said that even when there was a huge gathering of Dalits in Bhima Koregaon, sufficient police force were not deployed.

The Sangh Parivar goons threatened the Dalits to kill them. Dalits in large numbers are on the streets, blocking the roads and protesting the violence. Bandh in Maharashtra is declared. Prakash Ambedkar called upon all the Ambedkarites and progressives to join the bandh.
