Seven Indians, including two Keralites, were killed a tragic road accident in Kuwait, yesterday. According to Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD), at least 15 people were killed, and two others injured in the road accident. Even though there are reports that the killed Keralites are one Radhakrishnan and a Saleesh, it has not been officially confirmed yet. More details have to emerge.

The accident happened when two buses collided head-on on the Al-Artal road close to the seventh ring road near the Burgan oil field, the KFSD said. According to Mohammed Al-Basri of the state-owned Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), other than the seven Indian, five were Egyptians and the other three were from Pakistan, said Mohammed Al-Basri of the state-owned Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).

An Indian – in critical condition – and a Kuwaiti were also injured in the accident. Fire department spokesman Colonel Khalil Al-Amir said the victims were employees of Burgan Drilling, a private subcontractor for KOC. The fire department added that rescue teams from Kabd, Wafra, backup and KOC fire stations rushed to the scene, and the two injured men were transferred to hospital by land and air ambulances.
